Biography for Alvin M. Foreman

Alvin M. Foreman is a native of Chicago's South Side and is a graduate of Kenwood Academy (1987), the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (B.S., Finance, 1992), and Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1998).  Alvin is a licensed attorney in Illinois and Florida (inactive) and he is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.  He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association.

Alvin began his legal career with the Law Offices of Robert J. Ross, where he practiced law in downtown Chicago in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration, Real Estate Law, and Business Law.  When the Ross firm relocated to the northwest suburb of Inverness, Alvin's family ties drew him back to his roots.  He returned to Chicago as an Estate Settlement Officer with The Northern Trust Company.  In that capacity, Alvin applied his legal experience and knowledge to settle multi-million dollar estates for the bank's high net worth clientele.  This was followed by a move up the corporate ladder as an Assistant Vice President position with The Private Bank at Bank of America in the same line of work.  Alvin made a further climb up the corporate rungs to Vice President in charge of managing personal trusts for some of Bank of America's wealthiest clients.  In that role, he also served as a member of the bank's Administrative and Investment Review and Discretionary Distribution Committees.

Alvin took a military leave of absence from Bank of America to serve his country in the wake of September 11th.  During that period, he served as a paralegal specialist at Fort Hood, Texas in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps with the Army's Third Armored Corps.  In that capacity, he served in many roles, from assisting Soldiers with their estate planning needs prior to deployment, to administering Fort Hood's driving suspension program, to adjudicating tort claims against the U.S. Army for property damage and personal injury.  Most prominently, Alvin was hand-picked to serve on the prosecution team for two of the Army's highest profile courts-martial: the internationally publicized Abu Ghraib detainee abuse cases against Private First Class Lynndie England and Specialist Sabrina Harman.  Alvin received a commendation from Fort Hood's Staff Judge Advocate, Brigadier General (then Colonel) Clyde J. "Butch" Tate II, for his contributions toward accomplishing the Army's mission in that role.

Corporate and military successes notwithstanding, Alvin had a burning desire to return to the private practice of law, this time as the principal of his own law practice.  More importantly, he sought more balance between his career and his personal life, which now includes the four ladies he lives with: his loving wife and their three adorable daughters.  Alvin now practices law from his office located in Chicago's beautiful and historic Beverly neighborhood and travels to meet with clients throughout Chicagoland.
